About Drive for a Cure

Together we can make a difference for a family in need

The Amber Davis Drive for Cure foundation is a non-profit dedicated to making a difference in the life of family’s battling cancer related diseases in Iredell and surrounding counties.

Amber Davis, a beautiful 27-year-old mother of three young children, fought a tremendous battle against neuroendocrine carcinoma cervical cancer. Unfortunately, she succumbed to the disease on July 27, 2015. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy continues. Through her faith, strength and dignity, she led and influenced many people to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Throughout our trials, our family was very blessed to receive a phenomenal outpouring of love, support and kindness. The financial, spiritual, emotional and professional support was more important than words could ever express. It has given all of us the strength to continue to fight this every step of the way.

In remembrance of Amber, members of Amber’s family, along with many caring and dedicated people have formed the Drive For A Cure committee, that will strive to build on Amber’s legacy by making a difference in the lives of other families battling cancer. Each year, the committee will choose one or more family’s battling this disease, and we will supply them with much needed spiritual, legal, emotional and professional support. The same invaluable support and strength that was graciously given to Amber.

Founded in 2016, the Drive For A Cure committee has already been successful in securing the following annual commitments to support this worthy cause:

  • Statesville Record & Landmark, along with the Mooresville Tribune will publish stories about the family(s) to bring about public awareness and support
  • Integrative Wellness Solutions will supply the family(s) with free counseling services
  • Two (2) law firms will give the family(s) free legal assistance to include estate planning, disability services if needed and wills if needed
  • Various churches have graciously agreed to support the family(s) thru their outreach program to supply meals, transportation, outlets for the children of the family along with the spiritual support needed during their battle.
  • Financially there will be an annual golf tournament and benefit concert along with other activities (corn hole tournament, silent auction, raffles, etc…) to supply much needed financial support to the families.
Sponsors already committed to annual support are:  Black Pontiac, The Boat Rack, Fast Phils, Flow Toyota, Iredell Health System, L Gordon Iron & Metal Company, Lake Norman Pool and Spa, RPM Plastics just to name a few.
The committee for Drive For A Cure would ask that you please consider becoming an annual sponsor for this worthy cause. Together let’s surround these families with our love, support and outreach activities so they know they aren’t alone and have people that truly care. We can truly make a difference with the support of our local civic and business leaders in the area.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and her position is strong and secure, she rejoices over the future, the latter day or time to come, knowings that she and her family are in readiness for it.
