On March 2, 2016, after surgery and radiation, we returned to have our first major post treatment scan. The results we got that day left us with no answers and more worries. On March 4, 2016, we met Dan and some members of the committee. After hearing all of the things that this charity had to offer us, we were left speechless. Not even 48 hours after receiving some of the most unnerving news we had gotten thus far, we were blessed with a group of people offering us support so we could focus on fighting the cancer.
As anyone who has had or supported someone with cancer knows, there is a reason they call it a battle. You are constantly fighting with something whether it is physical, emotional, or financial. This group offered us something to help with it all. They offered help getting to the appointments, a counselor if any us needed someone to talk to, meals brought to the house if we needed them, legal help if we need it, and tournaments and concerts to raise financial support.
We cannot say thank you enough to Dan, Amber’s family, committee members, volunteers, friends, and supporters we have had throughout the past year. We thank God for bringing these people into our lives and we pray that this group will continue to grow so that many more families can be as blessed as we were.
